What are some things a Sicilian will always do?
As a trait, character, or otherwise?
My husband has been living in the US for the past 30 years and has traveled around the world since he was young… I just want to pinpoint his true heritage. Our daughter is half of him, so I would like to know something that she would always do like her father…(something he would teach her as a life lesson or what have you)

There isn’t anything that a Sicilian will always do. Just as those of other backgrounds, it isn’t fair to streotype them. My great aunt drank wine with every meal, my grandfather almost never drank wine. My grandmother would speak of Sicily as “home”, my grandfather never did. Those in my family who came from Sicily were proud and hardworking people, but there are probably some who would be lazy & uncaring.
My advice, for what it’s worth, would be to look at your husband as an individual & see his traits/character. Much of what I am comes from my father as an individual, not from what his national/regional background was. My father was an intellectual, and regularly gave me good advice. I try to be like that, because it’s something I admired about my father as an individual.
It’s not that I have no sense of pride for where my family came from (I’m proud to say that I’m part Sicilian), it’s just that I’m more proud of the man my father was and of the close family unit I was born into.

Oman’s travel and tourism industry is now halfway towards achieving its Vision 2020. The latter revolves around five areas of focus establishing Oman as a regional travel and tourism hub, increasing the contribution of the market to GDP to not less than 3%, increasing the participation of the private sector and activating its role in the development of various tourism activities, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), and increasing the Omanisation (the replacement of expatriate workers with local ones) percentage of the market to 80%. The healthy growth of travel and tourism in 2008 along with the investment initiatives underway and the growing worldwide awareness of Oman’s tourism potential are just some of the indicators that the sultanate is on track with its Vision 2020.
The crisis takes its toll on Oman
As the global financial crisis struck in the second half of 2008, Oman was not immune. On the macroeconomic level, the government has released its approved 2009 budget highlighting a deficit of OR0.8 billion or around US$2.1 billion. In addition, Oman’s economic growth is expected to decline to three percent in 2009 as the crisis weighs. The travel and tourism industry posted lower growth in 2008; however, this decline does not fully capture the full effect on Oman, given the fact that Oman’s high season of arrivals – Muscat Festival and Khareef Salalah Festival – ended before the financial crisis took its toll on arrivals.

What is my diagnosis?
IN OCT 2006 I INJURED MY WRIST. IN DEC 06 I HAD TENDON SURGERY TO REPAIR MY WRIST. IT DIDNT STOP THE PAIN. SINCE THEN THE DOCTOR HAS GIVEN ME MANY GUESSES, 5 CORTIZONE SHOTS, AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. NOW THE PAIN HAS TRAVELED FROM MY WRIST INTO THE ELBOW AND ONTO MY SHOULDER. VERY DULL CONSTANT PAIN IN MY SHOULDER, AND STREAKING PAIN IN MY ELBOW AND ARM WHEN I GRIP AND MOVE MY WRIST AND HAND. HE ONLY DONE XRAYS, THERE ARE NO BREAKS. I HAVE ASKED FOR A 2ND OPINION. THIS IS A WORMANS COMP CLAIM. GETTING ALOT OF RESISTANCE FROM THEM AND MY WORK.
Sounds like Tendinitis or inflammation of the tendon. Your Doctor may think the same since he gave you the cortizone shots which as you know are steroids or anti-inflamatory medication to reduce the swelling of the area or tendon, However, that is a temporary fix. Which you should stop because they will further deteriorate the tissue making it worse. Tendinitis won’t show n X-ray since soft tissue is what is involved, not bone. In the long run you may need surgery to clean off scar tissue from the tendons which has built since your original injury. Scar tissue Is part of the healing process, once you break something or disturb its original make -up is never the same. In other words this is something that you will deal with for the rest of your life in one way or another.
Wear a brace that can help with the pain.
