Hi all. I am an architect and an ardent traveler. I am well traveled and had a really great time in Asia Pacific and loved the exotica.The last hotel I stayed in was not guest-friendly at all. Do you know any travel website that can help me?
Try www.expedia.com It allows you to see the customer satisfaction ratings of previous guests. Also you can see the tourist attractions nearby, facilities, etc. So far I’m satisfied with expedia. I could know more or less what to expect from a hotel.

How to build a travel website that works
Having the opportunity to share Croatia, my native country, with so many people around the world is a great satisfaction. Before Croatia gained its independence in 1992 after the four years of war, nobody knows about this small Mediterranean country, with one of the most beautiful sea coast and with more than 1000 islands, spotted between Slovenian border in the north and Montenegro on the south.
My passion is travel and my business was traveling. Even the fact that I have left my country and moved to Italy where I live today, my only aspiration was to build a web site about Croatia. I wanted to show to the world the beauty of this tiny country as I like to call it “Mediterranean as once used to be” .
But between wishing and doing there is a big gap and I simply didn’t know how to start. When I moved in Italy I was almost 45 years old, married and father of fourteen years old daughter. It was a period of struggling how to find a job in Italy, for me and my family. After 17 years I can say I was lucky to settle myself and my family and now when I have reached the age to get retired I suddenly asked myself:
“Why it took me so many years to find that my passion for traveling can be my additional income and pastime and why not to make a living doing what I love and what I know. And what is more important to do it in my spare time?”
English and Italian are my second languages. My computer knowledge was not on the highest level but discovering internet I realise that it can help me turn my travel hobby, passion or ability into a possible online business. By nature and thanks to Internet I was looking on any kind of online business, more globally than locally. That’s why I choose English language rather than Italian as a future website language.
Build a website! It sounds great. But not any kind of website. I wanted a website that works, the website with visitors, but not one-way visitors. I wanted visitors that come back to my website, visitors that like and find my site useful and trustworthy.
My demands for building a website look to be excessive and my internet researches took me few years before one day in November 2004 I came across the program or better to say “all-you-need-to-build-a-website-that-works” . His majesty SBI.

Apart from local Hotels, Tours, Restaurants, things to do, weather and currency exchange. What would you like to see in a travel guide website?
I am about to create a new website, but i want it to be unique. Any suggestions will be great. The best answer will get a prize.
Unique features won’t matter to me much if the site isn’t reliable and easy to use – those are my first priorities. Given that thoiugh, I’d be interested in information on local festivals during the period I’ll be there and/or food specialties of the places that I look up. Not necessarily specific restaurants – I generally don’t use websites to find those anyway. Instead I like to know something about the local foods that may be different than what I’m used to – then I can find places that serve those things that appeal to me.
